Perfect DIY Nails.

Unpopular opinion, but BIAB (ā€˜builder in a bottleā€™) actually ruined my nails instead of making them strong/healing them like we pay the premium price for. I gave at-home nail extensions a try too, andddd they damaged my nails just as much šŸ„² I was just on the precipice of accepting ugly, short nails forever, then gave GlamrDip a try.

GlamrDip's 'Salon Perfect Kit' with 4 Colours

Iā€™m a full blown convert. I will shout GlamrDip from the rooftops until the rest of my life.

Hereā€™s what I freakinā€™ love:

  • The entire ā€˜salon perfect kitā€™ with 4 colours is $134. For one nail appointment, it was costing $90. You do the math.

  • The dip colour powders are going to last me forever as you only use practically 1/100 of the product each time, and each colour only costs $15!

  • I personally love long, feminine nails, but natural nails are thin and I scratch myself and others very easily. I have a 2 year old who I donā€™t want to see scratch marks all over when she runs and cuddles (or jumps all over) me! Having GlamrDip on makes the ends rounded and a little thicker than natural nails that scratch.

  • My natural nails grow very quickly, so Iā€™ll have those perfect almond/coffin shape in no time as I continue using this product and protect my nails from tearing/ripping off

  • Doing your own nails is a lovely little self-care practice, it really topped my Sunday off to create my own perfect nails whilst listening to a podcast!

  • When you need to remove them, you just soak them in a solution! Unlike BIAB/acrylics that have to be filed down with an electric tool (the amount of times I was burnedā€¦) and damage your real nails.

  • The quality is immaculate, Iā€™m tapping on my completed nails now and theyā€™re solid as a rock yet still sleek (not bulky or lumpy). The packaging and actual products are so nice to use as well, and I love that they include the final step of ā€œhealā€ which is a nourishing oil for your cuticles so your natural nails continue to grow healthily (totally a step/product they didn't have to include but did!)

Tips for your manicure:

  • Maybe this is obvious, but I didnā€™t get it at first. When youā€™re applying the 'ā€œbaseā€ polish, apply it to one nail then immediately dip it into the powder. Follow for the next nail - paint and dip, paint and dip. Donā€™t do what I did and paint your entire ten nails in the base and then dip them, cos it ainā€™t gonna work šŸ˜…

  • I only did 2 layers of dipping, even though it says 3. Maybe Iā€™ll do 3 as I get better at doing them (canā€™t believe my first go was so successful, they came out perfectly!) so that theyā€™re thinner layers, but 2 seems to be just fine!

To be transparent, I only did my nails yesterday and am writing this having immediately fallen in love with the product and concept, but I havenā€™t stayed the course just yet to see how I feel about them in 1-2 weeks time, and I also havenā€™t tried the removal process yet to do my next set! (So freakinā€™ excited to see how they look with length in a couple of months time!). But if thereā€™s any issues I run into or anything I donā€™t like or think could be better, Iā€™ll update this post!

This blog post wasnā€™t a requirement from the brand at all, I just love the product and wanted to share my experience because I think we should all be doing gorgeous gorgeous nails at home instead of paying $90 every two weeks at a salon. If both services were free, Iā€™d still choose at-home because of the satisfaction of creating your own perfect manicure and the self-care down time too ā˜ŗļø

GlamrDip have offered me 10% off to gift to my audience, you can use this link here for your order! Please DM me letting me know which colours you chose, if you have any questions at all, and to show me your magnificent mani šŸ’…šŸ¼

Update!

Removal: Literally so. freakin. easy. You just soak your nails in the solution (I followed their recommendation in sitting your nails in a snack bag of the solution held in a bowl of hot rice to keep it warm) and the powder dissolves/rubs off, within 10-15 minutes. That means no damage to your real nails at all as thereā€™s no filing! I sat and watched Winnie the Pooh with Azura whilst soaking them, it was insanely easy.

New set: Hereā€™s a photo of my second set, which turned out perfect as well šŸ„¹
