DIY Lash Extensions.

I’m currently in my “low maintenance” era of DIY beauty appointments, having started with DIY manicures (still just as obsessed, you can read my blog post here), gradual tan + face drops (absolute game changer, I’m using Lust Minerals, my code is CAITLINP15), now trying lash extensions, and will probably try brow lamination too!

How did no one ever tell me about this 🤯 I came across DIY lash extensions on TikTok (praise the algorithm), and immediately did some research on different brands, inclusions, pricing, and ordered straight from Infinaluxe. As soon as my kit arrived, I was blown away with the quality of products (such as applicator tweezers) as they were on the lower scale of cost compared to other companies, and included so much in the starter kit too!

The kit I ordered was the “Complete Kit”, but I would choose the Complete Kit + Lash Cleanser because it’s a must have and it’s not super common to be able to find an eyelash brush and cleanser at the chemist. Personally I chose the Medium Wispy (pre-mapped) style, but I removed them after a week because I found they were too heavy for my lashes, and I’d applied them too close to my eyes (you’ll probably never actually nail your first go 😅). I messaged Infinaluxe on insta and they helped me through choosing a more suitable style, and I now have the custom light wispy’s on the way! These are more individual lashes to build your own style, instead of 4 long strips. I have however just today re-applied the pre-mapped lashes again, and I’m obsessed and they’re much more comfortable this time, so go with what you feel will be best for you! Maybe grab both styles 😂

HERE’S WHAT I LOVE:

  • It literally takes TEN MINUTES (even with a toddler climbing all over you) to do an ENTIRE SET that lasts for TWO WEEKS. That alone should have you sold 🤭

  • I’m a fulltime solo mum, parenting a toddler on my own. My time is incredibly valuable and I barely have time for self-care after I put my toddler and business before me! If I can reduce my morning prep time by 10 minutes by not having to do mascara (which doesn’t even look that crash hot), I’m gonna take that.

  • You wake up looking hot xx

  • I seriously hate any 1-2 hour beauty appointments - lashes, hair, nails, brows, anything that makes me sit still and not be productive 😂

  • They’re waterproof! Just like professional lashes, you can swim in a pool or the beach, wash your face in the shower, and have no fear if your child splashes mud on your face 🙃

  • If they start to fall off, you have the tools and expertise to just clamp that baby back in place

  • Removing them actually takes 30 seconds and doesn’t tug or pull on your natural lashes whatsoever - you just apply the removal serum (included in the kit) and they slip straight off!

And look, I’ve been trying to embrace the natural look since having professional lash appointments for about 3 years straight, but my lashes really are just so bland, light and short, even after letting them heal from having extensions on constantly. I just look a whole lot better with lashes on, and I carry myself better when I feel better about myself! I’ve been needing a lil confidence boost in my appearance lately (being a mum, feeling undesirable, being late to the party in “moving on” and not even a date prospect in sight (having high standards is a blessing and a curse)), so the gal is gonna do her lashes 💅🏼
